Does It Hurt?

The procedure can hurt, but not a lot. It stings like a rubber band snapping against your skin.” But it only stings for a millisecond—the time it takes for the laser to target your hair follicle and zap it away (of course, this means that it will sting for each hair follicle zapped). While your skin may be a little red and puffy after the procedure, you shouldn’t feel any pain in the area by the time you leave the office

Is It Permanent?

Laser hair removal is permanent hair reduction, not permanent hair removal. It’s not uncommon for patients to require maintenance treatments once a year, even after the area has been fully treated. The reason: The laser targets and destroys your current hair follicles, but new follicles can develop thanks to hormonal changes or shifts in weight.

How long does a laser hair removal treatment take?

A number of factors determine the length of time for a treatment. We plan for adequate time to go as slowly or as fast as is comfortable and appropriate for each client.

What areas of the body can be treated with laser hair removal?

Hair removal lasers can safely treat any body part.

How does laser remove hair?

Hair removal lasers emit a light at a specific wavelength that is known to be absorbed by the pigment (color) in the hair follicle — without damaging the surrounding skin. The light is converted to heat energy, which in turns disables the hair follicle so that it will not produce another hair.

Can Cosmetic Injections be used to Get Rid of Eye Bags?

In most cases, puffiness under the eyes is caused by eyelid fat that bulges against the eyelid skin, often as a result of herniation. Although non-surgical methods cannot completely eliminate these “bags,” cosmetic injections can be used to significantly reduce the appearance of bags. Fillers add volume, allowing indentations to be smoothed out without using cosmetic surgery.

Can Injections and Dermal Fillers be used for Acne Scars?

Can dermal fillers help acne scars? The answer is yes! Injections are a great way to reduce, and in some cases eliminate, acne scarring. They are generally most effective with rolling scars and boxcar scars. Plus, they can help restore the volume and fullness to the skin that can be reduced by acne scars and certain types of acne treatment. The best treatment for you depends on a number of factors.

How Long Does it Take to Recover from Injection Treatment?

After your injection treatment, you’ll be ready to return to your normal routine right away. However, you might experience some mild soreness, swelling, tenderness or redness. These symptoms can clear up very quickly, but might last as long as seven days. If you’ve received lip injections, it may be about 14 days before you have completely recovered.

How many laser hair removal treatments will I need to see full results?

The number of laser hair removal treatments needed may vary from patient to patient depending on a variety of factors including hair density, treatment area, and color. On average, most patients will need at least five treatment sessions at regular consistent time intervals such as once per month for optimal results. With each session, patients can see an improvement in progress as the hair is prevented from growing. Your dermatologist will be able to give you a realistic idea of how many sessions will be required to see the most ideal results.

Are laser treatments safe?

Lasers are very safe and effective treatments for many common skin conditions when performed by a highly trained and experienced laser expert like Dr. Melda Isaac. It takes great skill and expertise to perform laser treatments correctly. Patients should only seek laser treatments from a board-certified dermatologist who has years of successfully treating patients with lasers.

How can I smooth out and remove acne scars to have smooth skin again?

Treatment for acne scars can be tricky, and often requires a combination approach. It is difficult to completely eliminate acne scars, but significant reduction is definitely possible. Treatment will depend on the extent, type, and location of the scars, but some of the best treatment options are laser skin resurfacing, chemical peels, and micro-needling. An in-person consultation to evaluate your condition and discuss your choices is necessary in order to come up with the best customized treatment plan.

How can I tighten sagging skin without surgery?

Lasers, radio frequency devices, and focused ultrasound treatments are non-invasive, and are safe and effective modalities for skin tightening. Keep in mind that any non-invasive skin tightening procedure will not be as effective as surgery. Nearly all non-surgical skin tightening procedures require multiple treatments to achieve maximum results.
